O'Brien is a fifth-year senior transfer who recently graduated from St. Joseph's.
O'Brien will enroll in graduate school at UAB and be eligible to suit up for the Blazers this season, pending NCAA approval. O'Brien played his freshman season at Bucknell before transferring to St. Joseph's.
